We are pleased to confirm that Cambs Digitise has been officially approved as a supplier on the BlueLight Commercial Legacy Media Digitisation Framework (BLC-0177).
This national framework provides UK policing and law enforcement organisations with a compliant route to procure specialist services for the digitisation of legacy analogue and physical media, supporting the secure transition to modern digital evidence workflows.
Approved framework lots
Cambs Digitise has been approved on the following framework lots:
Lot 3 – VHS Media Conversion (Outsourced with DEMS Integration)
This lot supports the secure outsourcing of VHS media digitisation to an approved third-party supplier.
It includes:
Secure shipping of VHS media to the supplier’s digitisation facility
Professional conversion of VHS content into digital format
Development of an integration with the contracting authority’s Digital Evidence Management System (DEMS)
Seamless delivery of digitised media with associated metadata into the DEMS
Return of original physical media to the contracting authority following completion
Lot 5 – Niche Media Conversion (Outsourced with DEMS Integration)
This lot covers the digitisation of a wide range of non-VHS and specialist legacy media formats.
It includes:
Conversion of niche or specialist media types into digital formats
Secure electronic transfer of digitised files into the contracting authority’s DEMS
Integration developed at contract implementation to support secure review and management of digital records
Return of original media after digitisation
Supporting modern digital evidence workflows
Across policing and the wider public sector, significant volumes of historical and evidential material remain stored on ageing formats such as VHS, audio cassette, optical media and other specialist legacy formats.
These formats present increasing challenges due to:
Physical degradation over time
Obsolete playback equipment
Slow access to evidential material
Limited compatibility with modern evidence systems
Digitisation through a compliant framework enables forces to preserve critical evidence, improve accessibility, and support efficient investigative workflows.
BlueLight Commercial Legacy Media Digitisation Framework – Cambs Digitise Approval
As a framework-approved supplier on Lots 3 and 5, Cambs Digitise is recognised to support UK policing and law enforcement bodies with outsourced legacy media digitisation services that integrate with existing Digital Evidence Management Systems.

Being included on this framework reflects our technical capability and understanding of the standards required when working with evidential content.
